Carla Spoon started writing stories in elementary school, when she first realized that every walk home deserved a plot twist. For decades, her day job was writing software documentation, which taught her clarity, discipline, and a deep appreciation for active voice. Romance and thrillers helped her survive long train commutes...and sometimes made her miss her stop. 

Now she writes romantic suspense with natural faith threads that pair hope with high stakes and happily ever afters. Her debut manuscript, The Heiress and the Everyman, was a finalist in the 2025 ACFW First Impressions contest in the romantic suspense category. 

Carla lives in Washington with her husband, where rainforests, deserts, mountains, and sea provide endless creative fuel and beauty. Their two adult daughters keep them laughing. And grounded.
